Whats going on here?

Well, its been the daily grind around here. We have been trying to do at least one special/different thing each weekend with the kids. Its been well worth the effort- swimming, Art museam (well, we left that one with a screaming toddler :)). The Frist Art Center was a last minute thing because one of our friend's son had a work of art chosen for the County's Art Show...very cool 1st grader. Most of the pictures below are from that trip.

We also spend a great amount of time outside---cleaning up sticks in the yard, last fall's leaves and removing our shutters from the house. Now with a new roof, new front door and no shutters --the house looks pretty different, in a good way.

4th photo chain?

So, as requested per my SIL, Mindy, I am participating in a facebook/blogspot 'thing' (don't know what else to call it). I am supposed to (I think) post the 4th picture in the 4th folder of my picture folders. If the fourth folder happens to have subfolders I would post the 4th photo from that subfolder...and so on get it...so what picture was it....

I wasn't really sure where to go because I have a folder under Andrew and under Samantha and then under My Pictures. So I went with starting in My Pictures.

Happy Birthday Grandmommy (Celebration time)

Last weekend, I was privledged to join my in laws for a 'girls' weekend in Birmingham. We eat good food, went shopping, saw Camelot and ate more good food. I am grateful David watched the kids for the weekend. I captured just a few pictures during all the festivities.

Hints of Spring

We went from cold to really warm this weekend. We know this probably won't last so we have been trying to make the most of it this weekend. We went to the zoo. Samantha was so excited to see the giraffes and zebra's this time. Each time its a different animal she is excited about. This is actually the first time we have been since the playground was reopened. The kids had a blast. Andrew couldn't get enough of the slides. He would giggle all the way down. We also spend an hour playing outside (Andrew was screaming in the house so it was more pleasant to take him out and distract him). Daddy had the right idea in the wind to take Samantha kite flying! We got some great pictures.

Complaints about the cold?

I feel like complaining that I am cold, but for most of you its warm down here in TN! Really, it was single digit wind chills quite a few times since I last posted. But then we have our days, the ones where I am so glad we live in Nashville. Last weekend, it was in the 50s and sunny on Sunday. We spent about 2 hours outside with the kids. I cannot wait to get them a swing set! Its going to be so much fun. 60s are forecasted for this weekend. We are aiming for the zoo.

Andrew has been teething again. His first molar came in and, wow, was he not so happy about it. His daycare workers were convinced he had another ear infection because all he did for 3 days was cry. I did have him check out and they were wrong (thank goodness), but his right tube is already out! The doctor thinks the left tube is on its way out too, so now we are hoping he gets through the winter without another infection. I am so worried if he gets one it will never go away like last summer. He is offically a walker. He really took off about 2-3 days after his birthday party. He loves to play with all of his cars and everytime we go into the garage, he is looking for his "ball". Oh, and did I mention he is a climber? !

Samantha is becoming my little helper. She has been great when David has had to travel for work. She helps put clothes away and loves to help in the kitchen. Sometimes its a challenge to come up with something for her to do but when I do its usually worth it. Tonight she put the toilet paper we bought at the store in each bathroom, peeled AJ a banana and feed it to him and even helped make breadsticks. Then after I sang her song for bedtime she said, "Mommy, I love your hair. Its pretty." How sweet (and how blind!). We were blessed to get to go to the circus about 2 weeks ago (free tickets :)) I posted a few photos of that event here.
