Titan's Training Camp

It was a big day for Samantha. She won a photo contest to attend Titan's Training Camp as a VIP guest. Lucky for me and Daddy and AJ we got to go along for the ride!

The weather was nice (pretty warm) but we were in an open tent watching practice. The highlight was that Samantha made a connection with Vince Young! She got his attention by yelling "Go Vince Young" during his warm up and he waved at her! Then after practice he made a B-line to our tent and said he wanted to come see her. He signed her hat and she gave him a hug. It was so SWEET. She also got Jevon Kearse's signature and gave him a high five. Then she got Cortland Finnegan's signature. None of these guys were 'scheduled' to sign autographs but who can refuse Samantha's sweet voice saying "Please, sign my hat. Go Titans."

What a week

Oh, how nice they are learning to play together ! :)
Yes, Andrew really does put his mouth on EVERYTHING.

Happy 6th Birthday, Lydia. First grade started the next day for her.

Best I could do to get all the cousins in one picture. Poor Mary Wren is buried!

Watching the 'big girls' play gymnastics.

So, after going to Memphis and Lydia's birthday party last saturday, we went to church and to the Y to swim on sunday and between all the changes in schedules and packing and unpacking bags, I made a few reorganization mistakes. I ended up at the grocery sunday night (late) without my wallet and I ended up ad AJ's doctors appoint without any diapers or wipes and well, there was poop on him and me before the appointment even started. Samantha also smacked her cheek on the dining table so hard that strangers have asked us what happened - nice shiner! Daddy also knocked one of the shelves of the refrigerator door- bad news was it was the one with the new dozen eggs I just bought on Saturday morning. That was a fun sticky mess to clean up- luckily AJ was strapped in his high chair and well, Samantha got stern warnings to stay at the table....

Samantha one a photo contest! She is getting us into the Titan's Training Camp VIP tent for their practice tomorrow. Hopefully she won't be freaked out by the real life size of the player (mommy might be ;))

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Pictureless update

I wanted to update everyone even though I haven't downloaded pictures from our camera this week.

Samantha had a GREAT time with Grandmommy and Granddaddy. She said her favorite part of the visit was seeing the dinosaurs, turtles and fish at the Natural Science Museum. She was so excited to see us when we got to Memphis to pick her up. She is acting pretty clingy right now and is even more jealous of AJ, but hopefully, the phase will pass quickly. We are hearing "Mommy, I want to hold you" EVERY time I am holding AJ.

Andrew is doing well. He either hates his pack in play, is teething again, and/or separation anxiety has kicked in. He doesn't sleep well away from home making travel discouraging! He is moving much quicker on all 4s now and has pulled himself up quite a few times. His favorite place to do this is the side of the bath tub to watch his sister. (I should get video of this). They reported at daycare that he actually let go and stood independently for a few seconds ! Oh, no! Please, AJ do not rush to walking!
We went to the doctor yesterday for his 'well visit' and shots. At just over 7 months, he is 16lbs and 10 oz and 26.5 inches. He is just 25% ile in height and weight. I am encouraged that his weight has gone up again. (You may recall that a few months ago he went 3-4 weeks without gaining ANYTHING!) In the last month he gained about 11 ounces! David and I have a bet on whether he will get to 20 lbs before 1 year. I say yes! How couldn't he? David says no. Pull for me on this one...if I win David has to plan a date night and set up a babysitter!

Weather here has been FANTASTIC! 85 degrees, low humidity. This is wonderful.

Happy Belated Birthday to Uncle Joe (30 years old!) and Anna (our 8 year old neice)! Tomorrow is Uncle John's (26) and Lydia's (6 year old neice) birthdays! Happy Birthday.

Go USA!

August HEAT!

Andrew's 7 month photo. He is doing much better. He is thankfully sleeping better, but needs to have someone in his vision all the time. He is now crawling on hands and knees and trying his mightiest to pull up!

Lydia and Ellie (our new neice, Aunt Laura's step-daughter) beating the heat.

The little girls weren't so thrilled with the sprinkler...this is more their idea of 'water play'! But they did go swimming with Grandmommy today I hear...played Humpty Dumpty in the pool.

See his teeth? I think he is getting another one soon.

Up until a week or so ago, our summer would have been classified as mild, but with the end of July and these first days of August the heat has arrived. We are in the upper 90s and humid. Samantha is spending the week with Grandmommy and Granddaddy in MS! Her cousin's Lydia and Mary Wren are there too. I am sure they are having loads of fun and wearing out their grandparents. Special times!
