Likeable blog feature...

I was just looking at the blog again...which I do on occasion just to see Samantha...and I was thinking one of the things I really like about this blogspot thing is that if I click on Samantha's pictures she just about becomes life sized- if you hadn't tried it try it. Look at her munching on that apple- I just love those little (long) fingers. It also gets me to reflect on the little moments in life. Samantha has taken to kissing my belly. She says she is kissing the baby, but I think she thinks she has a baby in her belly too, or that her belly button is also called a baby? Who knows. I suppose in a few month she will understand when by belly gets BIG. Samantha also thinks she can live on raisins alone, that her duck towel is a requirement after bed time, everything is either BLUE or YELLOW, that mommy likes to sing "she'll be coming around the mountain" 6 times in a row. She likes to say "All right" and "Hold me". Oh, its so fun having a toddler.

Slow spreading news

The news about Samantha becoming a Big Sis is slowly spreading. Its been fun to tell people- and emotional too (but I can blame that on hormones). The funniest reaction I got was from a co-worker who said, "well, obviously its not yours". I was so confused. Apparently he thought we were adopting because I am not showing- then I reminded him I was only 10 weeks!! I think he was embarrassed (especially since he has 4 of his own!).

We had a great weekend...went to Chattanooga to visit Amy, Matt and Luke Hartman. We spent the day at the Creative Discovery Center. Samantha had a blast. I was impressed with how great the museum was for toddlers. She was so tired Saturday night she slept from 7pm until 8:15 am sunday (when I woke her up because I was worried - 2 hours later than normal). We also went to an outdoor concert at Crocket Park on Sunday night where Samantha kept David busy running up and down the hill and playing on the playground. She is a busy bee!

Our Growing Family

Big news!

Samantha has a little sibling! This ultrasound is from 6/13/07. You can see the baby and it's umbilical cord. Due date : 1/20/08.

Please keep us in your prayers!

Holly, David, Big Sis Samantha and Lil' Sib.

Orange Beach....it's Sandtastic!

Samantha enjoys watching the local wildlife at Orange Beach, AL. She also likes playing in the sand. At least, that was our impression.

Blue dog?

Don't be surprized if you encounter a blue dog one day...and I am not talking about Blues Clues. My friend, Johnna Beth, came over to walk last night and these little girls (about 6 or 7) came up to ask us if we had seen their 'blue' dog. I said "what color?" and they said "BLUE". Johnna Beth said, "are you sure its blue, do you mean black?" (we were both thinking they surely know their colors by now). Anyway, we told them we were going for a walk and we would watch out for their BLUE dog- chuckling as we turned way. Well about 1 loop later this BLUE dog came running at us-- thats right -- we both said "Oh, theres the blue dog!" In reality it was the craziest combination of colors you could image - black, grey, white, brown- and maybe because of the light it looked blue? But they weren't kidding- there's a BLUE dog living in Franklin, TN-if you see it you'll believe us.

Summer Fun

Summer has gotten off to a great start. Samantha thinks she is a big girl- laying out (well, for the 5 seconds that she sits still).
We went to Orange Beach for a few days. (I think these photos are on David's laptop- I will try to post one or two later).
We went to the Nashville zoo with friends from church.
David and I ran a 5K - finally got running and and well...thats died off a little since the race. 90 degrees after dinner is a little discouraging. We had some friend's from Permobil over for brunch. I got my grant sent off. David is actually in Phoenix right now- working, but also visiting with old HERL friends and I do believe he got a round of golf in AND some time by the pool. What's next you might ask? Stay posted- ALOT!

I knew it would happen

Well, today I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. State Highway Patrol man today. As many of you know, I was in an accident (unfortunately with Samantha in the car), but fortunately (really, by the grace of God), we were not hurt. The SHP officer who delivered us from the side of the highway on that day in February to David was the same one who pulled me over today. When I saw the lights behind me I knew this was going to happen one day- what Holly speeding? --NO, I was pulled over for driving in the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane and they couldn't see Samantha. So thanks to SHP officer I got to cross 4 lanes of traffic to say "Hi", and to get a "Sorry, drive safe". Pop-pop had a great suggestion------get a child on board sticker! I figure every day I annoy some speeding maniac by driving the speed limit in the HOV/fast lane. Father nows best- always a great idea. Love ya!

A fresh start

Samantha eating ice cream at the Watermelon festival. Thats a bull-dog paw on her face- GO MSU!

As many of you know we, the Algoods, have had a website for oh, about 2 years now. We started it when preparing for Samantha's birth. I loved having the website, but it was pretty weak and we had limited storage space so I had to keep "replacing" photos. Who wants to chose which photos to delete to make room for the next ones?! So, today, as my grant goes out to the Veteran's Administration (say some prayers), I decided to start a blog where you could always go back and see how things have developed or just look at the lastest and greatest news. I have been inspired by some friends who have blogs (the Vickery's and the Hurst's) .

I think this is more my style. Hopefully, David will join in and who knows in a couple years, you might see Samantha posting too (although based on her level of independence she will start her own site only if she can type from my lap- her favorite place to be whether eating, reading or playing).
