Leaps and Bounds

Andrew is growing really fast. We have transitioned to all 3-6 month clothes and summer clothes all at once. Its been upper 70s or 80 all week. He is starting to try to have conversations and is sleeping without being swaddled now (although he still wakes 1-4 times a night depending on his mood- fun). Samantha's language and vocabulary skills are taking off (although her favorite phrase right now is "I don't want to". She is very excited that Daddy put the hammock out in the backyard. She is between a 2T and 3t. She actually would be good with an 18 month waist and 3T length but they don't make that do they?

The house is coming along. Just a few more days for major changes and then we need to get a move on painting the trim and getting someone in to do the backsplash. Oh, and it would probably be a good idea to move our furniture back in!

Progress

As promised, some progress pictures of the kitchen/den update.

Before shots

Work in progress:
Day 1: bye-bye counter
Day 1.5: bye-bye wall

Day 2: Hello, support. Hello, dishwasher

Day 3: bye-bye popcorn

Hello granite!

Day 4:
Hello, faucet! (yeah, no more washing dishes in the bathroom sink)
More work on electrical and den's ceiling

Day 5 & 6 quiet weekend

Day 7: Hello, drywall (the chair is guarding the mud/puddy from Samantha!)

What's next? Tomorrow is hopefully the oven and the cooktop (yes, I will have to cook again- no more PB&J). More drywall repair and 'beautifying'. Thursday painting prep work. Friday painting. Then we will deal with the floor....we discovered partical board under the carpet so it will be more work than originally expected.
