Family and more family

As I ponder what as occurred over the last couple of weeks since I found the time to blog, I realize how much fun we have had. Today we are forced to slow down because Samantha is under the weather, but the last month has been full of visitors and fun. After Grandma and Grandpa left we started anticipating the arrival of my sister, Heather's, 4th child. Little did we know the anticipation would build so long. Claire Elizabeth (spelling of Claire is undecided right now, I think ) was born July 26th, just one day after Heather and Brad's 9th wedding anniversary. We only have one picture of Claire so far and when I get a higher resolution photo I will share the picture, but she is beautiful - Grandma says she looks exactly like Heather did when she was born.
Amidst the anticipation, Uncle Joey (BoBo) and Aunt Amanda came to visit for almost a week. They toured Nashville, listened to music, did some shopping and played some golf. We enjoyed our evenings together and playing with Samantha.

Samantha (besides her cold today) has been doing great. She is very active learning her colors and shapes. She is talking more and more and loves singing songs, clapping and dancing. She fits in well in Nashville with her new Titan's jersey from Larry (at Permobil). More people tell us these days that she looks like her Daddy. We posted about 30 pictures on Imagestation so if you want to see more of Samantha go to the "Samantha heading for 2!" link.

Hot July...Cool Summer

We are having a great summer. A few days after my last blog, my parents (Pappap and Mamaw or 'mom') came to visit. We spent 4th of July with them at a friends house in Mt. Juliet. We missed out on fireworks this year but we had a good time hanging out and eating. After the 4th, David and I headed to Washington DC for a few days without out little one! Samantha stayed home with Pop-pop and 'mom' (I'm momma and mamaw is 'mom'). I think she is right because thats what I call her. Anyway, I hope she did not wear them out because we really appreciated the time to do adult things- in the 100 degree weather! We WALKED all over DC, spent time in museums, at monuments, saw a movie and a theater production, and we even spent time with some of David's lab friends from Pittsburgh. It was alot of fun! I think my favorite was the International Spy Museum, but I also enjoyed seeing the Capitol from the inside and the WWII and Korean memorials really could leave you speechless! I apologize there is no new picture up of Samantha- I have plenty of low resolution pictures my mom sent me while babysitting, but the latest from the 4th are on David's computer. So, keep checking we will post some soon! Our pictures from DC have been uploaded to Imagestation so use the link on the left if you want to check them out.
